Is my screen being uploaded to the cloud in the background?
Video is not uploaded to the cloud without your review. Video is stored locally in a buffer directory and you must review the clip before publishing it.
Once uploaded, your replay can not be viewed by others unless they are given a public share link. See How can I enable public links?
What about crash reports and Application logs?
During the beta, Dashcam uploads debugging information to Datadog and Segment. We keep sensitive logging to a minimum, and Datadog logs are automatically deleted on a rolling 30-day basis.
Additionally, our company is the only one with control over that data. We have no interest in sharing or selling that data to anyone. The logs are important for figuring out where the app is slow or broken so that we can build a better product!
